We are proud of the transformative impact we have achieved through collaboration with trusted partners. Some of our key partnerships include:
- LEAD Uganda: The Local Empowerment And Development (LEAD) program in Uganda exemplifies our partnership approach rooted in co-creation, southern leadership and systemic change. Funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, LEAD Uganda is a multi-faceted program addressing sustainable livelihoods and social cohesion for refugees and host communities. Through a highly collaborative process, we brought together stakeholders—including local NGOs, community leaders, and government representatives—during a system canvas workshop to identify barriers, map opportunities, and co-create solutions. This approach ensured alignment with Uganda’s refugee policies, such as ReHOPE and the Comprehensive Refugee Response Framework (CRRF). Our partnerships prioritize local ownership, with refugee-led organizations playing a central role in program design and implementation. Capacity-building workshops and peer-to-peer learning further empower local partners to lead effectively, ensuring the program’s long-term sustainability.
- Benkadi: A multi-country strategic partnership in four countries in Africa: Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast and Mali, between organisations from the North and the South, involved in influencing policy-making, planning and implementation of activities related to dealing with climate change in their countries. A key feature of Benkadi is the financial management through an independent Financial Shared Service Centre based in the South, which organizes, monitors, and reports on the use of resources. This structure ensures local ownership, transparency, and accountability. Funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Benkadi showcases our commitment to building strong, locally embedded financial systems and fostering equitable partnerships.
- Combating Modern Slavery:
In collaboration with the AFAS Foundation, this partnership works to eradicate child domestic labor in Benin and Burkina Faso—a pervasive form of modern slavery. Through partnerships with local organizations like DEDRAS, CIPCRE, and AEJT, as well as international collaborators such as AKVO and Children Believe, we focus on prevention, recovery, and advocacy. This consortium emphasizes local leadership, using data-driven strategies to identify vulnerable children, provide education and vocational training, and promote sustainable livelihoods for families. Our partnership with the AFAS Foundation highlights innovative and transparent financial management through shared service models, ensuring accountability and local ownership in every step.
Together, we tackle complex challenges—from systemic poverty and social injustice to climate resilience and inclusive development—through a holistic approach that emphasizes local leadership, shared responsibility, and mutual learning. Our partnerships allow us to leverage the strengths of all stakeholders, ensuring that the impact of our work is both deep and lasting.
